Bubayero College continues to invest in faculty development as three senior lecturers—Dr. Amina Hassan (Head of Community Health Department), Mr. John Adamu (Senior Lecturer in Primary Healthcare), and Mrs. Grace Musa (Lecturer in Maternal and Child Health) have completed a comprehensive six-month advanced training program in digital health education and innovative teaching methodologies.

The specialised training, conducted in partnership with the University of Ibadan’s Institute for Advanced Medical Research and Training, focused on integrating technology into health education, developing online learning modules, virtual patient simulation, and creating interactive digital content for community health training.

“This training has equipped us with cutting-edge skills to enhance our teaching effectiveness and better prepare our students for the evolving healthcare landscape,” explained Dr. Hassan. “We’re now able to incorporate virtual reality training, online case studies, and digital simulation exercises into our curriculum.”

The newly acquired expertise will significantly enhance the college’s e-learning capabilities, allowing for more flexible and interactive learning experiences. Students will benefit from access to online resources, virtual laboratory experiences, and digital case study platforms that complement traditional classroom instruction.

Mr. Adamu highlighted the practical applications: “We can now create virtual community health scenarios where students can practice decision-making and problem-solving skills in a safe, controlled environment before facing real-world situations.”

The college plans to implement these new teaching methodologies beginning next semester, with additional faculty members scheduled for similar training programs throughout the year. This investment in faculty development reinforces Bubayero College’s commitment to maintaining educational excellence and staying current with global best practices in health education.
